03. The Tribe of Nike and Village of Starbucks

Around the world well known American brands like Timberland, Levis and Nike are highly prized and much desired: American pop stars like Madonna, Brittany Spears, and Justin Timberlake are idolized, and even in Amman Jordan, when a feature writer for the New York Times Magazine asks King Abdullah and Queen Rania what they do in the evening,the King and Queen have to patiently explain to the serious minded journalist that the Will and Grace they like so much, are characters in a sitcom.

With the exception of the first chapter, the chapter on Animism and the first paragraph of all other chapters, the content of this site has been removed.  It is now available as an iBook, on Amazon, and Nook for $7.95/
